Banh Cuon Huong Que is a hidden gem located in North York, Ontario, specializing in authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Renowned for its banh cuon dac biet, customers are raving about the deliciously thin rice rolls filled with minced pork and woodear mushrooms. Japheth Kang admits the banh cuon here surpassed his wife’s homemade version, showcasing the spot's commitment to quality and flavor. Each dish is served promptly, making it a perfect choice for a quick yet satisfying meal.

Wife took me to this spot for Banh Cuon. I didn't have it in Vietnam so I didn't know what to expect in terms of authenticity. She made it before so I had some idea. But the banh cuon here was amazing! She admits this spot does it better than her, but she is still learning. We didn't have anything else just the banh cuon dac biet and it came out quick! I cleaned that dish so quickly that I was tempted to steal from her plate.

The Banh Cuon was good. My mom is a big critic and she loves it. Nice portion size. The only thing is it would be nice if they added some herbs eg basil

Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! Banh Cuon Dac Biet - Rice rolls were decently filled for Toronto standards with minced pork, woodear. Rice rolls were slightly chewy and provides a nice, smooth texture that also clings on the fish sauce pretty well. The wrapper was thin where there was filling, but was thick on the ends of the roll. Fish sauce is slightly sweet and not very pungent. Comes with about 8 pieces. On the bottom are three slices of reg. viet sausage, and three slices of cinnamon sausage. Fried squid cakes are fragrant and slightly on the oily side, but tastes great. Springiness of the fish cake and crisp bounciness of the squid. Comes with a generous portion of steamed bean sprouts, shredded cabbage and some thinly sliced pickled carrots, along with 2 slices of cucumber

We ordered through ubereat and the food delivered was still hot. We got chao long and bun cha. The taste is 90% authentic. I like their buncha meat, the noodles were a bit soggy, maybe because of the long ride to our hotel. But overall, if we were to come back to Toronto, we’ll support them again.

I tried Pho for my working lunch and it was the best. The broth had the original taste of beef, and the meat was incredibly tender. Guess how meticulously the cook had prepared this bowl of soup! It exceeded my experience with my mom's half-day preparation for a kind-of-pho at home! I highly recommend this restaurant if you really want the authentic taste.

Truly amazing Vietnamese food. I’m a first generation Viet, and this place is better than eating at my mom’s house!! I recommend the fish soup (bun cha ca) or the pho. They specialize in chicken pho but I had the beef, it was so tender and delicious. The “cooked” beef was brisket that tasted like it was simmered for 12hr in soup stock, so flavourful and fragrant! I’m getting hungry just writing this review. Definitely go if you want to experience a 5 star bowl of authentic Vietnamese soup!

I’m surprised it’s so good. I have been in Toronto and couldn’t believe that I didn’t try it earlier. Highly recommend their bun ca or banh cuon.
